Russia: COVID-19 entry restrictions officially lifted

Please be informed that the Russian Government officially lifted entry restrictions on entry into Russia introduced by Government Decrees No. 635-r of March 16, 2020 and No. 763-r of March 27, 2020 effective July 15, 2022.

This also includes lifting the ban on issue of e-visas for foreign citizens.

What are the changes?

1. Effective July 15, 2022, the restrictions on the entry of foreign citizens into the Russian Federation were completely lifted.
2. The Government has officially lifted the ban on issue of e-visas, but there is still a notice on the official e-visa portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that currently it is impossible to issue an e-visa.

NB! Please note that the cancellation of entry restrictions does not imply cancellation of epidemiological rules. The requirement to present a negative PCR-test result received within 2 calendar days before the entry into Russia remains in place for all foreign nationals with exception to nationals of Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan entering Russia via the land border and nationals of Belarus (regardless of the means of entry).
