MEDICAL CERTIFICATES ISSUED BEFORE MARCH 1st, 2022 ARE VALID FOR 12 MONTHS – MIA OF RUSSIA

As we informed you earlier, the order of the Ministry of Health of Russia No. 94n dated 02/21/2022, which entered into force on March 1, 2022, set the validity period of medical certificates issued to foreign nationals to 12 months from the date of their issuance. At the same time, we received many questions from our clients about whether this validity period applies to certificates issued before March 1, 2022.

In this regard, in addition to the verbal confirmations by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the clarifications published on the website of the Ministry of Health of Russia, we have received a written response from the General Directorate for Migration of the MIA of Russia, which confirms that medical certificates issued before March 1, 2022 are also valid for 12 months. Repeated medical check-up during this period is not required. Here is a quote from the official response:

"Thus, foreign citizens who have passed a medical examination in the period from December 29, 2021 to March 1, 2022 must undergo this procedure again within 30 days upon expiration of 12-month period from the date of issuance of medical documents”.
