COVID-19 in Russia: PCR tests no longer required for entry

Please be informed that the Decree of the Chief Sanitary Doctor from October 21, 2022 abolished the requirement for foreign nationals to present a negative result of a PCR test when entering the Russian Federation.

Which documents introduce the changes?

-- The Decree of the Chief Sanitary Doctor No. 22 dated 17.10.2022 "On Amendments to the Decree of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation No. 7 dated 18.03.2020 "On Ensuring Isolation in order to prevent the spread of COVID-2019".


What are the changes?


From October 21, 2022, foreign nationals arriving by air, land or sea, will not need to present a negative result of a PCR test when entering the Russian Federation.


NB! However, there is still a requirement to fill out the questionnaire before arriving in the Russian Federation. Selective testing for COVID-2019 is possible at checkpoints across the state border.
