Key amendments to Serbia Immigration Regulations
Serbian government has recognized a need for streamlining, shortening, and simplifying procedures of obtaining residence and work permits for foreigners in the Republic of Serbia. Although, the immigration process has not been very complex and lengthy as compared to some of the neighboring countries in the region, still certain improvements were needed for Serbia to become even more attractive for foreign investments and foreign workers who seek employment in the country. With relatively positive economic development and growth, Serbia has also faced shortage of skilled and semi-skilled workforce in both public and private sectors. Newly announced amendments in regulations will benefit foreigners as well as employers who intend to hire foreigners.

Serbia: Immigration Changes in Employment Law & ICT
Considering the amendments that have taken place in the Law of foreigners and Law of employment of foreigners recently in Serbia and which we have already written about, in this text, we would like to refer in particular to the improvements that apply on the work permits for the special type of employment in Serbia, such as Assignment and Intra-company transfer work permits.
New EU Blue Card
The European Parliament is introducing a new EU Blue Card Directive. The innovations will affect highly qualified workers and are intended to increase their mobility in the EU countries. The conditions of admission and rights for Blue Card holders and their family members will be simplified. Let us take a closer look at some of the provisions of the Directive.
Kazakhstan Immigration: new rules of work permit processing adopted
We would like to inform you that the new rules of obtaining work permits (WP) in Kazakhstan took force on July 1, 2023. This includes WPs obtained under the procedure of intra-corporate transfer (ICT).
