Visa-Free Entry Suspended for Armenia, Uzbekistan, and Egypt. On October 9, Montenegro officially suspended visa-free entry for citizens of Armenia, Uzbekistan, and Egypt. The move aligns the country’s visa policy with the European Union as Montenegro continues progress toward EU membership.

EU to Launch the Schengen Entry/Exit System (EES)

The European Union will launch the Entry/Exit System (EES) on October 12, 2025, introducing a new digital procedure for registering travelers entering and leaving the Schengen Area. The rollout will continue gradually until April 10, 2026, as member states upgrade border infrastructure and technology.

Сzech Republic: Work Commencement Notification Timeline Tightened

Effective October 1, 2025, employers will be required to notify the Czech Labour Office at least one day prior to a foreign worker’s commencement of employment; whereas currently, such notification can be provided by – at the latest – on the employee’s first day of work.  

Croatia: Digital Nomad Visa Now Available

The visa offers foreign nationals the option to reside and work remotely from Croatia, whereas all work permits in Croatia previously required local employer sponsorship. 

Slovenia: New Digital Nomad Residence Permit Launches This November!

From 21 November 2025, Slovenia will offer a new residence permit specifically designed for digital nomads. This permit will allow non-EU nationals to live in Slovenia while working remotely for foreign companies or clients abroad, providing a flexible option for location-independent professionals.
