New Regulation on Electronic Visa Applications and Approvals Now in Effect in Serbia
Starting from March 1, 2025, the Regulation on the Electronic Submission of Visa Applications and Visa Approvals has come into effect. This regulation, jointly adopted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Internal Affairs, and the Minister of Labor and Employment, was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia on February 7, 2025.
What does the new Regulation entail?
- A unified online portal for foreigners and an online application form, which is already in use.
- All supporting documents must be submitted electronically, either as digital or scanned documents.
- The invitation letter from a legal entity will be certified with the qualified electronic signature of the legal representative through the electronic service on the Foreigners Portal and submitted when applying for a visa electronically by entering the invitation letter identification number in the appropriate field on the application. The invitation letter from an individual must be certified by the relevant authority and submitted as a digitized document when applying for a visa.
- For minor foreigners, the visa application must be submitted by one parent, along with the consent of the other parent.
- When the application is submitted by an employer, an authorization or power of attorney for submitting the application must also be provided.
