Georgia: Moving Routes to Central Asia
The situation around Iran continues to affect international logistics and moving routes to Central Asia. According to our specialists, restrictions on established routes have redirected cargo flows towards the Port of Poti in Georgia, increasing pressure on the port and creating a shortage of transport capacity between Poti and Central Asian countries.
Another factor is MSC’s suspension of new bookings to and from Novorossiysk. The search for alternative shipping routes may put additional pressure on other Black Sea ports and regional logistics networks.
International shipments and household goods moves to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan may therefore face longer transit times and higher transportation costs.
