EU: Risk of Delays in Sea Freight

Port congestion and changes to shipping schedules are making it more difficult to plan sea freight between Europe and Latin America. Base freight rates remain relatively stable, but additional surcharges may increase the final cost of shipments.

Freight forwarders recommend booking shipments well in advance, considering alternative sailings and allowing additional time for delivery.

Conditions vary depending on the country, port and type of cargo, so transit times and total costs should be confirmed for each individual route.
