Uzbekistan: visa-free regime introduced for US nationals
Starting from 1 January 2026, Uzbekistan has introduced a visa-free regime for nationals of the United States of America. The corresponding Presidential Decree No. UP-203 was published on 3 November 2025.
Under the visa-free regime, U.S. nationals may enter and stay in Uzbekistan for up to 30 days from the date of entry. The decree does not impose any restrictions on the number of entries or the total period of stay within a year. Visa-free entry is permitted provided the individual does not engage in activities that require specific immigration permits, such as employment or study.
This measure aligns with Uzbekistan’s broader policy aimed at developing tourism and strengthening commercial and cultural ties with other countries, as set out in Presidential Decree No. UP-4861 dated 2 December 2016.
