Romania to Increase Minimum Wage

Starting July 1, 2024, Romania's minimum wage will rise to 3,700 RON per month before taxes. This increase is established by Government Decision No. 598/2024, published in the Official Gazette of Romania.

Employees with a standard full-time work schedule (on average 168 hours monthly) must now receive at least 3,700 RON per month, approximately 750 euros. Until this date, the rate remains 3,300 RON per month.

This change will primarily affect workers earning the minimum wage, especially those in positions that do not require higher education. The same rate will apply to foreign citizens working in Romania and seconded employees.

Highly qualified specialists must receive a minimum salary of 7,567 RON per month, reflecting the average gross salary level in Romania.
