Kazakhstan: New Residency for Digital Nomads
Kazakhstan has launched the Digital Nomad Residency project, which significantly simplifies obtaining a permanent residence permit (PRP) for foreign IT specialists. The project is aimed at attracting talent to the IT sector and supporting the country's innovative development. The main task of the pilot project implementation is to provide and organize favorable conditions for foreign citizens.
Implemented by which authorized body?
The project was implemented thanks to the joint work of the Public Services Committee under the MDDIAI RK, Artificial Intelligence and Innovations Development Committee under the MDDIAI RK, National Information Technologies JSC, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Migration Service Committee under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Security Committee and the autonomous cluster fund «Park of Innovative Technologies».
What is the process?
The legalization process consists of several stages, including the collection of documents, filing an application after registration at the Astana Hub, passing checks and interviews to obtain prior approval. Then registration on the portal egov.kz to apply for a Permanent residence permit (PRP).
The application review period is 45 calendar days. After that, specialists can come to Kazakhstan and complete the registration at the offices of the Public Service Center and to obtain an official PRP within 5 business days.
In case of “refusal”, you can resubmit the application after 1 month.
