Kazakhstan Issues First Residence Permit Under Digital Nomad Residency Program
Kazakhstan has issued its first residence permit under the new Digital Nomad Residency Program, part of a national initiative to attract global specialists in technology and innovation.
Since the program’s launch in January 2025, more than 270 applications have reportedly been submitted by professionals from over 20 countries, including the United States, Canada, France, Turkey, and several post-Soviet states. Most applicants work in IT fields such as programming, cybersecurity, and design.
The program expands on earlier visa categories introduced by Kazakhstan: the Digital Nomad Visa, Neo Nomad Visa, and Residence Visa, aimed at freelancers, entrepreneurs, and highly qualified specialists.
