Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan mutually increase allowed registration-free term of stay
Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have increased the allowed periods of stay without registration for each other's citizens from 5 to 30 calendar days. The corresponding amendments were made to the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the conditions of mutual travel of citizens" dated July 7, 2000.
The amendments will allow:
- citizens of Uzbekistan to stay in Kazakhstan for up to 30 days without the need to make a temporary residence permit. At the same time, the requirement to submit anotification of arrival within 3 working days from the date of entry into the country remains in force;
- citizens of Kazakhstan to stay in Uzbekistan for up to 30 days without the need to make a temporary registration at the place of stay;
- citizens of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to cross the borders of each other's countries without having to receive and present migration cards.
The amendments come into force from the date of receipt by the authorized representatives of the countries of notifications on the implementation by the parties to the agreement of the necessary domestic procedures.
