Armenia: visa exemption for holders of certain residence permits

Armenia has renewed its visa exemption regime for nationals of 113 countries who hold a valid residence permit issued by the United States, any EU Member State, a Schengen Area country, or a Persian Gulf country (namely the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman). The residence permit must be valid for at least six months at the time of entry into Armenia.

The permitted period of stay in Armenia under this exemption is up to 180 days within a one-year period.

According to additional clarifications published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the residence permit issued by another country may be presented in the form of a plastic card or a passport stamp. The document must contain the following information about the holder in Latin characters: document name, holder’s first and last name, country of citizenship, date of birth, and document expiry date (the dates must be indicated in accordance with the Gregorian calendar, e.g., 18.06.2027 or 18 JUN 2027).

The renewed regime applies from 1 January to 1 July 2026, inclusive.
